Declaration Practice: what to know before playing

A small practice goal

For a calm first round, focus on one decision. All cards need a non-overlapping grouping, at least two sequences and at least one pure sequence. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.

The goal to keep in mind

Check whether a complete 13-card hand can satisfy every declaration requirement. Check the relevant controls before continuing. Work at your own pace.

A walkthrough of the rules

  1. Start a 10-question session. Read the visible rule label and wild rank, if shown.
  2. All cards need a non-overlapping grouping, at least two sequences and at least one pure sequence.
  3. Study the complete hand before answering. Choose Valid or Not valid.
  4. Read the explanation after submitting. Each question accepts one submitted answer.
  5. Continue to the tenth question for a session score; start another session for a new selection.

How to interact with the game

Tap the answer buttons or selected card; the deadwood exercise uses a numeric input. Next question appears after an answer. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer. Work at your own pace.

Follow the example

Example hand: A♣ 10♦ 9♦ Q♦ A♦ 5♣ 9♦ 7♦ A♠ K♥ 5♥ 9♥ 9♠. Wild rank 13. No full grouping meets the two-sequence and pure-sequence requirement. The penalty for this hand is 80 points. Check the relevant controls before continuing.

Check this before moving on

Look at the complete hand before deciding. Do not judge only the best three cards; every remaining card matters. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.

Game-specific help

What is the aim?

Check whether a complete 13-card hand can satisfy every declaration requirement. Look at the complete hand before deciding. Use another round to revisit a decision.

How do I use the controls?

Tap the answer buttons or selected card; the deadwood exercise uses a numeric input. Next question appears after an answer. A clear plan starts with the current position. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer.

Which format is available?

500 stored and rule-checked questions; ten questions per session. Questions can repeat across sessions. Practice is solo, with no rating, cash reward or account. Begin with the objective. Use another round to revisit a decision.

What should I check before a move?

Do not judge only the best three cards; every remaining card matters. A clear plan starts with the current position. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.

Can you give an example?

One pure run, another joker-assisted run and two complete sets can cover a valid 13-card hand. Work at your own pace. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.

How many questions are available?

This exercise contains 500 stored questions. A session selects ten without repeating within that session. Look at the complete hand before deciding. Check the relevant controls before continuing.

Can I change a submitted answer?

No. Read the explanation, then continue. Start another session to practise again. A clear plan starts with the current position. Check the relevant controls before continuing.

Are the answers checked against the rules?

All cards need a non-overlapping grouping, at least two sequences and at least one pure sequence. Begin with the objective. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.

Will I always see new cards?

No. The bank is finite, so another session may include a previously played question. Begin with the objective. Use another round to revisit a decision.

What does the score measure?

The score is the number of correct answers in this ten-question session. It is not a skill certificate or a prediction of match results. A clear plan starts with the current position. Check the relevant controls before continuing.
